The Congolese SapE Society of Ambianceurs and Elegant People. At the beginning of The XXth century when the French arrived in Congo, the myth of the Parsian elegance was born among the youth of Bekongo ethnic group, who were working for the colonizers. At that time, the white man was considered superior, someone showing better manners and elegance. In 1922, Gerard Anrdre Matsoua was the first Congolese ever to comeback from Paris dressed as genuine French. His arrival make  describable commotion and admiration among his fellow countrymen; he became known as the first Grand Sapeur. That’s where the Congo belief starts that man should be elegant.

This actually happened in a safaripark in South Africa. Imagine you are sitting in your car watching the lions and then this lioness walks up to your car and actually opens the door… That is one smart lion! I guess it was trying to escape from the safaripark, but how did it learn to open a car door?
